We're a local business currently running everything on a server in our office, and we're looking at OREL Cloud since it's a Sri Lankan provider. I saw "Elastic Cloud Server (ECS)" listed under Compute on the OREL site but I'm not clear what it actually gives me. Is it a full server that I control? How is it different from just keeping our own hardware? And does being a hybrid cloud make any difference for a business like ours? Just trying to understand the basics.

Understanding OREL Cloud ECS
An Elastic Cloud Server (ECS) is essentially a virtual server hosted in OREL Cloud’s data centre. You get dedicated resources such as vCPU, RAM, storage, and networking, and you have administrative control over the operating system and applications, similar to having your own physical server.
The main difference from keeping your own hardware is that you don't need to purchase, maintain, or replace physical servers. OREL Cloud manages the underlying infrastructure, while you manage your server, OS, and applications. You can also scale resources more easily when your business requirements change.
For a hybrid cloud, you can keep some systems in your office while moving selected workloads to OREL Cloud. This can be useful if you want to gradually move to the cloud without migrating everything at once, while maintaining connectivity between your office and cloud environment.
